What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI tools interact with apps like Clonra. If you use AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools, MCP allows them to read and write your Clonra data directly.

Instead of switching between your AI assistant and Clonra, you can manage your work logs, goals, and action items without leaving your workflow.

What can you do with MCP?

When connected, your AI assistant can:

Manage logs

  • Create new log entries (including drafts)

  • List and search your existing logs

  • Update log content, tags, and goals

  • Delete logs you no longer need

Track goals

  • Create new goals with target dates

  • Update progress and status

  • View all your goals and their progress

Handle action items

  • Create tasks extracted from conversations

  • Mark items as completed or dismissed

  • List pending and completed items

Organize with tags

  • Create and manage tags

  • Apply tags to logs

Who is this for?

MCP is useful if you:

  • Use AI coding assistants daily

  • Want to log work without context-switching

  • Prefer voice or conversational interfaces

  • Want to automate parts of your logging workflow

How it works

  1. You create an API key in Clonra

  2. You add Clonra's MCP server to your AI tool's configuration

  3. Your AI tool can now access your Clonra data securely

Your data stays private β€” the AI tool can only access your account, and you can revoke access anytime.
